| My last entr y was in March and now here I am sitting in a waiting room for one of my congregation members to recover from her operation. She was diagnosed with brain cancer and this is her second major operation to remove her tumor. The operation didn't go the way we anticipated. Instead of taking out the tumor completely the doctor discovered that it wasn't as clean as he wanted the tumor to look. I guess it is a way in which a doctor can only diagnose. She is recovering well and we hope to see her soon. You can log onto our website at www.alcsd.org and the cover page has our sister and her family pictured. | | |
| It has already been 8 months since we moved to San Diego. During this time we haven't had a chance to get away as a family so we decided to go visit our friend Willy Cho in Las Vegas. The trip was fun and we also celebrated Andrew's 11th birthday. We hope to get away again soon in April and hit the slopes. Ministry, life and weather in SD is fantastic but we still miss everyone in MI and TO. Hang in there friends, it will soon be Spring.

| This past Monday was Tarah's birthday and we celebrated this day by getting her a nice cake and a Christmas tree to decorate. Although the tree wasn't her birthday gift, our family had a great time decorating the miracle tree. It is called a miracle tree because you don't have to re-align all of its branches. Anyways, here is just two pics for you to enjoy.

| Recently I was in Chicago attending a meeting for the United Methodist Council on Korean American Ministries. When I arrived in O'Hare, the temperature was in the mid 30s and it dawned on me that I was now in the Midwest. On my return flight back to San Diego, I had a lay over in Denver and the temperatures were even lower and I could see the snow peak mountains. I love snow, cold weather, slippery roads, and every aspect of winter but when I returned back to San Diego that Saturday morning, I finally realized how thankful I needed. For the warm weather? No but for God's grace for all of us. Lets count our blessings no matter what.

| It has already been over two months since our family moved out west to San Diego and we are loving it. We discovered that Poway Unified School District is one of the best in California. Both Andrew and Kaitlin had to make some adjustments in their summer schedule to school life here in San Diego but they are doing very well. Tarah is truly the happiest I have seen in a long time but she has lots of work on her plate. Not only does she lead the children's ministry at our church but she balances the role of being a pastor's wife and mother. I too am finding it a bit strange having to check and double check both our schedules so that we don't double book. I hope to make things easier as I am beginning to prioritize all the engagements that are being open for both of us. I still have not yet hit any golf course yet. I drool every time I look out my bedroom window as people hit their second shot of the 11th hole at the Carmel Mountain Golf course. I'm still finding golf balls occasionally in my back yard but no broken windows yet. I am finding myself having to stop and really look at the beauty of God's creation as the scenery keeps getting more familiar. I hope I never take this gift for granted. I truly miss everyone in Michigan and Toronto. Although we are thousands of miles away, we will always be connected. | | |
